Ngai Tahu Seafood is looking at "major expansion" in Auckland but is not saying exactly what that means.
The company, which is owned by South Island tribe Ngai Tahu, bought Wellington's Cook Strait Seafoods in July last year and operates two retail stores selling fresh fish.
It plans to open shops in Auckland, and is advertising for "top performers" to work in its "newly developed world-class seafood retail stores".
The advertisement says Ngai Tahu Seafood has a "major expansion programme" under way. General manager Gavin Holley would not give details, saying through a spokesperson the company would release more information next month.
