Toyota and Hyundai have recalled roughly a combined 110,000 trucks and sport utility vehicles, including the 2018 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia, and the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport.
At this stage, it appears no local vehicles have been impacted by the recall.
Car sales data from the Motor Industry Association shows that there were 103 new Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles registered in New Zealand in 2018.
There were no new Toyota Tundra or Sequoia vehicles registered locally in 2018 - although, MIA figures do not take second-hand imports into account.
"This recall applies only to those models built in the USA and as such does not impact any Santa Fe's sold in New Zealand at this time," said Andy Sinclair, general manager at Hyundai New Zealand.
