Telecom chairman Dr Roderick Deane is still in the big league of corporate earners at Telecom, taking a cool $1.93 million in pay in the year to June.
The remuneration package includes $350,000 in chairman's fees, three months salary as chief executive, a settlement of bonus payments that were still owed when he stepped down as chief executive on September 30 last year, a settlement of share options and a winding up of annual leave owed.
New chief executive Theresa Gattung earned $805,076 in her first nine months in the job.
But that does figure not including a bonus payment as chief executive or any valuation of options.
Dr Deane's payments come in behind that of Lion Nathan chief executive Gordon Cairns, who presides over the transtasman brewing business and whose pay package was $2.29 million in the year to June 1999.
Former Air New Zealand chief executive Jim McCrea received a package of $1.11 million in the year to June.
