Apec's number one photographer is resigned to the possibility that he will shoot barely a frame, but he will put together a pretty flash batch of photograph albums.
Bruce Jarvis, who heads the so-called host stills team, has seen two Commonwealth Games, two America's Cup regattas and the first Rugby World Cup through the viewfinder, but his main job during Apec is looking after the needs of other photographers.
This includes a team of seven working directly under him, and the world's media, who will be clamouring for the best positions when the flashguns start firing.
"I'd love to go and take pictures," says Jarvis, who started his career with the Daily News in New Plymouth in 1968, "but there's no way one photographer can do it all."
His team will shoot pictures of the delegations' activities, the highlights of which will be mounted in individual albums for the leaders.
Taking care of the big picture
