Synergy International and Cyberelves have announced they might form a strategic alliance.
The two companies have signed a heads of agreement to investigate the merits of an alliance and hope to finalise a deal within the next month.
Wellington-based Synergy specialises in management consulting and information technology services and has more than 230 staff in New Zealand. It is expanding overseas and will shortly establish an office in London.
Cyberelves, which specialises in web development for overseas clients, has sales offices in New York and London, with development carried out in New Zealand by its team of 30 staff in Auckland and Wellington.
Synergy chief executive David Irving and Cyberelves chairman Philip Carden said an alliance would allow the two companies to bring major high-tech developments to New Zealand.
"By combining our international networks with our local expertise, we aim to ensure that more software and web applications are developed here in New Zealand for overseas markets," they said.
"New Zealand is already recognised as a world leader in this area and an alliance between Synergy and Cyberelves would be a further boost to the local knowledge economy."
