GENEVA (AP) Swiss authorities say customs officials have intercepted more than 1 million counterfeit anti-anxiety tablets at the Zurich airport.
The Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products says officials seized the shipment while it was in transit between China and Egypt.
It says the seized tablets were counterfeits of the Xanax compound made by Pfizer.
The federal agency known as Swissmedic said in a statement Friday the four crates that were seized weighed over 400 kilograms (880 pounds).
Swissmedic says the seized drugs contained no active ingredients, and it has ordered their destruction.
