Nine firms set to receive $750,000 in R&D funding and assistance through Industrial Research's co-investment programme were announced in Wellington last night.
The companies include Klein Medical, Fonterra, TracMap, Im-Able and Antipodean Pharmaceuticals.
The firms will get the opportunity to develop ideas with the staff at the Crown institute.
Companies receive 50 per cent funding for their project and must come up with the rest themselves.
Research, Science and Technology Minister Wayne Mapp said the programme sat well alongside business assistance measures the Government had introduced.
Over $300 million worth of new research and science funding was announced by the Government this year.
