These key areas are:
* Lead Generation
* Sales Conversion
* Repeat and Referral sales
My recommendation is you start doing some new marketing activities that will instantly improve your results in all three of these key areas.
In my experience, it's the combination of a number of new marketing activities that produces great sales results rather than any one activity by itself.
And that brings me to the 30 Day Marketing Challenge...
The concept is pretty simple. Pick a 30 day period for your business. And in this month, commit to starting at least 10 new marketing activities.
I'm actually offering this 30 Day Marketing Challenge for my own clients.
I am helping them to put into action 10 of my favourite marketing strategies. You can see the details at 30 Day Marketing Challenge.
Now you can easily use this same idea without my help.
Here are some of the new marketing activities you could start doing in your own business in the next month...
1: You could easily send out at least 4 handwritten thank you cards each work day. In the card just write a 3-4 sentence personal message. "Mary, thank you for your interest in xyz product or service. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to talking again soon. Kind regards. Your name'.
I met a young real estate salesperson from Brisbane a few months ago. He told me that he had been selling houses for 3 years and started sending out 10 thank you cards a day from his very first month in sales. In his first year he earned $120,000 and in his second year he earned $825,000. In his latest financial year he topped a million dollars in earnings and still sends out 10 thank you cards a day.
2: You could ask 'expensive questions' with ten people a week when you talk about your products and services. I covered expensive questions and how effective they are in a recent Herald article Ask the expensive questions.
3: You could write one short article or tip sheet each week with useful ideas and get this read by dozens of potential customers and clients. I talked about how to do this in my Herald article Make yourself an expert.
4: You could begin to provide unexpected 'added value' to a dozen or more of your existing clients each week so they become an army of raving fans for your business. There are some great ideas on how to do this in my Herald article on Added Value.
There are literally hundreds of new marketing activities you could begin to do today in your business. And many of these are either free or super low cost to do.
The good news is that even though 2011 is coming to a close, you can still give your sales a real 'kick in the pants' with the 30 Day Marketing Challenge.
Action Step:
What are ten new marketing activities that you could begin to use in your business in the next 30 days?
Write them down and then start doing them.
