UPDATE: #SkyNZ now tweeting: power off & unplug at wall for 30secs, will take up to 2 mins to reboot, should resolve, pls advise if o'wise!
Some Sky subscribers are reporting problems with a MySky software update this morning.
Set top boxes seem to be locking up on a blue screen with the message 'Updating System Software'.
It advises not to disconnect from mains or signal feed, and says "This may take up to 10 minutes".
One commenter on the Geekzone forums said it took 5.5 hours for the update to apply and the MySky box to restart with the new software.
Others report the systems being totally frozen.
A Sky TV spokesman said the company is aware of the problem, and will provide more details later this morning.
The #SkyNZ Twitter feed says "issues with MYSKY at present, pls be assured we are working to resolve ASAP, apologies to all affected, will keep you updated".
