Sentinel expands into South Africa

Home equity release company Sentinel is expanding into the South African market.

Already established in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, Sentinel said it was entering South Africa through a joint venture with a financial services company, the Alexander Forbes Group.

Sentinel is a New Zealand-owned company aimed at providing finance to the senior-citizen market.

It expects to lend more than $500 million in the next 12 months in its four markets.
