New Zealanders may get to see all of Apec from the comfort of their couches under TVNZ plans to screen the conference.
It is understood the state broadcaster - contracted to film Apec by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Apec Taskforce - is considering screening it on an unused UHF frequency.
Auckland's Apec venues were not big enough for all media to fit in, so the taskforce hired TVNZ to supply footage for anything broadcasters missed.
TVNZ would transmit its film to the international media centre for other media to use, said a taskforce spokesman, Peter Parussini.
A TVNZ spokesman Liam Jeory, said last night that he had not heard of the plan.
