A team of robotic car-makers are speeding towards their aim to race their self-driven vehicle across the Nevada desert after winning an entrepreneurship challenge at the University of Auckland last night.
Grand Challenge won the top prize in the "Spark" competition, taking away $20,000 and a three-month tenancy at The Icehouse business incubator.
They plan to enter the vehicle, still being developed, in the US military-sponsored race next year, which is intended to help speed up the development of unmanned vehicles for combat.
