Casino operator SkyCity said the first stage of a $40m facelift to its gaming floor in Auckland, the largest in the country, will open to the public tomorrow.
The first complete refurbishment of the floor since the casino opened in 1996 began in September 2006 and is expected to be completed in early 2008.
"We've listened carefully to customer feedback and worked closely with our architects to create a new design and environment," said David Christian, general manager of the Auckland business of SkyCity.
The casino consulted Feng Shui experts so it could create a harmonious environment in its new baccarat room for Asian customers.
The company used United States architects Friedmutter Group and New Zealand's Aspec Construction.
