Quicken New Zealand manager Kerry Wood says the company is not pulling out of this country, despite the Australian parent company, Reckon, closing the quicken.co.nz web portal.
Mr Wood said a report in yesterday's Business Herald about the site's demise had customers believing the retail side of the accounting software business was also going.
"As it is, I'm expanding my staff from five to 11. I'm having a very good time with Quicken and QuickBooks," Mr Wood said.
He expects to sell more than 10,000 copies of the software next year.
Mr Wood said he was disappointed at the closure of the site.
"It was a time issue. Reckon led the region in establishing these portals and its investment was huge.
Maybe it was just ahead of its time."
