Keith Albert Stanton
Member of the New Zealand Order Of Merit for services to business and philanthropy
Keith Stanton has been a strong leader and mentor in the business community, having had a long career with Stanton Bros before founding Christchurch-based distribution company SIFCO Distributors in 1981, of which he is still the chairman.
Stanton has served on all of the Riccarton Rotary Club committees since 1978 and has also been a director. Over more than 35 years, Stanton has contributed significantly to a number of humanitarian projects including making personal and family trust donations of more than $2.24 million to more than 450 development projects globally.
These projects have spanned a number of areas such as water projects, emergency appeals, sponsoring children and helping schools, and in New Zealand he has also contributed to the construction of the Cholmondeley Children's Home Office Block in Canterbury and the upgrading of Highbury Wesleyan Church in Palmerston North.
