SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) Puerto Rico's governor says $38 million will be invested in regional airports to boost tourism across the U.S. territory.
Alejandro Garcia Padilla said Tuesday that $25 million comes from the private sector and the remainder from state and federal funds.
He said the projects include an area for artisans at the airport in the sister island of Vieques and building a terminal for executive passengers at the Isla Grande airport in San Juan.
The investment targets at least eight airports and is expected to generate some 600 jobs.
