Properties on reality TV series previously sold for $1.5m

Two of three property titles for The Block New Zealand television reality series changed hands this year for $1.5 million, official records show.

QV recorded two North Shore property titles between Lake Rd and Eversleigh Rd selling for $1.5 million but the price of the third and largest slice of land is being kept secret.

The Belmont land, on a site between Takapuna and Devonport, was bought for the country's most high-profile house renovation series where people compete against each other to do up houses.

QV records show 257 Lake Rd is a 1108sq m site with a rating valuation of $670,000. No sale price is listed for it on either QV or Terralink.

QV lists 2/259 Lake Rd as having a CV of $510,000 and being sold on January 30 for $660,000 and 259 Lake Rd as having a CV of $540,000 and being sold on February 8 this year for $840,000.

The houses will now be renovated by contestants on the show and sold again.

All three titles are a hub of work, with diggers, an excavator, concrete truck and many tradespeople on the site, surrounded by high fences.

A neighbour played down the effects of the works, saying she and her partner were away working during the day and she could not speak about the properties or any details of events nearby.

Libby Crawford and her brother Ben Crawford won the last series, filmed on Anzac St, Takapuna near the Auburn St intersection.

In Australia, where The Block began, it remains the highest-rated television series of all time and more than 350 episodes have been produced around the world.

The series will screen this year.
