Business leaders were recognised last night at the first New Zealand Procurement Excellence Awards with the Collaborative Procurement Banking Team at New Zealand Government Procurement taking the top award.
Around 160 business guests from 37 companies attended the awards at consultancy firm EY's Auckland offices, treated to drinks and canapes before hearing the winners of the four categories and the supreme winner.
Sara Hay, general manager of procurement for Auckland Council, picked up the Procurement Leader of the Year with Emma Hillman, senior procurement analyst for New Zealand Government Procurement, winning the Young Procurement Professional of the Year.
The Successful Procurement Change award went to Air New Zealand Procurement, and the Collaborative Procurement Banking Team at New Zealand Government Procurement took the Procurement Team of the Year before being awarded the Supreme Award.
Advisory partner at EY Scott Blackwood said the awards were set up to share knowledge and expertise as well as recognising the sector's significant contribution to the economy.
