Probe into Italian Minister

An Italian parliamentary committee has received a request by judges to investigate Agriculture Minister Gianni Alemanno for allegedly receiving illegal funds from Parmalat's former chairman Calisto Tanzi.

Alemanno, who denied any wrongdoing, has been accused of receiving $150,629 in return for favours between 2001 and 2003.
