Postal privatisation for Japan

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi vowed yesterday to push through legislation to privatise the nation's postal services with no amendments by June 19.

After months of bitter debate, the Japanese Government submitted the bills to Parliament on Wednesday to privatise the nation's postal system, including the world's biggest deposit-taking institution.
