More than 100 specialist search group police are swarming over Auckland buildings checking for security weaknesses before next week's Apec conference.
Two teams made up of officers from throughout New Zealand yesterday began "search and seal" work at the Town Hall (above) and at the Centra Hotel.
Police special operations spokeswoman Robyn Orchard said the specialist search group would check all Apec venues and accommodation over the next two weeks.
"You name it, they'll be checking it ... They'll be working very long hours from now until the operations end on Tuesday, September 14."
