WARSAW, Poland (AP) Governmenet figures show that Poland's jobless rate was 13 percent at the end of September, the same level as the previous month.
The Central Statistical Office said Tuesday that less than 2.1 million people in this nation of 38 million were registered as unemployed at the end of September, as seasonal outdoor jobs were lost with the onset of cold weather. During the spring and summer months the rate fell from 14.4 percent registered at the end of February.
The office noted that employers are planning to close some 37,000 jobs in the near future.
