A forestry sale could net its owners $350 million to $500 million. US forestry giant Weyerhaeuser and US-based Global Forest Partners are selling 68,000ha of forests and a sawmill in Nelson/Marlborough.
The forests went up for sale on February 13. Industry experts predict the owners could get $5000 to $8000 a hectare. Superannuation funds from Australia, Asia, the US and Europe have shown interest.
