The insurance broking business of the former Pyne Gould Guinness is to be folded into a partnership formed by the former Wrightson Group and Aon New Zealand.
The original insurance partnership was formed in December 2004 when Wrightson sold its insurance broking firm to Aon.
The new business operated under the Wrightson/Aon brand.
The partnership has now agreed to fold PGG's insurance broking business into the venture, which will operate under the PGG Wrightson Aon brand. Underwriting will be provided by Vero. The insurance tie-up follows the merger of Wrightson and PGG in October last year, when PGG Wrightson was formed.
PGG Wrightson chief executive Barry Brook said insurance broking was a vital component of the services on offer to PGG Wrightson clients.
"The extension of this partnership is a positive development for our clients and the insurance business, as well as maintaining an important and long-standing relationship with Vero NZ," he said.
Most PGG Wrightson insurance staff would be offered jobs.
