Rupert Murdoch reportedly avoided paying stamp duty of A$53 million and capital gains tax of up to A$1.2 billion by moving control of his ultimate family company, Kayarem, to the Caribbean and listing it on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. The Australian Financial Review said the move took place a week before News Corp was reincorporated in the US last November.
