November capped a stellar year to date for the New Zealand sharemarket, as it raised a record $6.19 billion worth of capital in the last 12 months.
November was the strongest month in the 12-month period, boosted by Kathmandu listing on November 13 and included in the NZX50 on November 23.
The month saw average daily trades up 7 per cent to 2215, the daily average value traded up 33 per cent to $96 million, and the total value traded up 39 per cent to $2.021b.
The $6.19b of capital raised for the year to date comprised $3.17b equity and $3.02b debt. It was 119 per cent increase on the same period last year and 33 per cent up on the same period in 2007.
