KEY POINTS:
Stricken Australian listed investment company MFS is planning to change its name to Octaviar, with changes for MFS' New Zealand companies as well.
At the end of the month, MFS New Zealand will change its name to OPI New Zealand, and MFS Pacific Finance will change its name to OPI Pacific Finance.
OPI stands for Octaviar Pacific Investments.
The proposal, to be put to shareholders on Friday, is part of an agreement with US company Massachusetts Financial Services over the use of the name and trademark 'MFS'.
The confidential agreement included a payment to MFS Ltd.
