United Airlines staff to lose pensions

A US federal bankruptcy judge has approved United Airlines’ plan to terminate its employees’ pension plans, clearing the way for the largest corporate-pension default in American history. Staff are set to lose thousands off their pensions, saving United about US$645 million a year.
