Vodafone is moving twice, first to Mt Eden before it shifts to its permanent new North Shore home.
Antony Welton, human resources director, said premises had been leased west of the CBD before the Shore shift.
"Vodafone has secured a premise at 360 Dominion Road in Mt Eden. The site, previously tenanted by ASB, provides fully furnished office space as an interim workspace solution," Welton said.
The refurbishment of its new Smales Farm premises was progressing, with the first module on track for completion and occupation early in 2017.
"The project, one of the largest corporate refurbishments currently underway in the Auckland region, is set to create unique work environments including open plan and collaboration zones, quiet work zones and private spaces - as well as making everything in the building smartphone- enabled," a company statement said.
