The Reuters news agency is reporting that New Zealand investors have been caught up in a multi-million dollar Wall Street fraud.
It says the FBI have charged six workers at Manhatten share brokers and that many of the defrauded customers were in Britain and New Zealand.
They are accused of defrauding between 300 to 500 investors of around $226 million.
Reuters says the company, Sky Capital, was being charged with running a "transatlantic boiler room" operation.
