KEY POINTS:
New Zealand's richest person remains Carter Holt Harvey owner Graeme Hart, according to National Business Review's annual Rich List, which has shrunk by about 50 entrants.
Second to Mr Hart and his worth estimated at $2.75 billion was the Todd Family worth $2.6 billion.
Also among the billionaires were Irishman Eamon Cleary, third with $2.1b; investment bankers Christopher and Richard Chandler ($2b each); the Goodman Family ($1.8b); and New Zealander-turned-Russian-magnate Stephen Jennings ($1b).
Rounding out the top-10 were the family of deceased alcohol baron Michael Erceg ($700m), Douglas Myers ($700m), and Sir Michael Fay and David Richwhite ($660m each).
The richest woman was Kathmandu founder Jan Cameron with $300 million.
Raising the minimum qualifying entry to $50m from $25m saw entrants fall to 176 from 222 last year. However, the overall wealth of Rich Listers grew 11 per cent to $39.07b.
