KEY POINTS:
A company owned by Auckland apartment developer David Henderson before it folded has been at the centre of an action in the High Court at Auckland this week.
Bernie Montgomerie, liquidator for Precinct Apartments, said this week's telephone court conference between Precinct Apartments, represented by lawyer Anthony Johnson, and Henderson was not over IRD claims.
These were a separate matter, he said.
IRD wants $7 million in GST which it is claiming from Henderson.
"The current proceedings before the High Court do not relate to IRD," Montgomerie said yesterday.
"These are challenges by the liquidators to transactions entered into by Precinct Apartments prior to it being placed in liquidation," Montgomerie said.
He could not say what the deals were because the matter was before the court.
Precinct Apartments went into liquidation last year and IRD is a preferential creditor.
Henderson built the Precinct apartment block on Lorne St in Auckland's CBD.
