SYDNEY - Australian shares snapped a six-day winning streak to trade lower today, as a fall in base metal prices hit BHP Billiton Ltd./Plc., while gold miners fell on weaker gold prices.
Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index .AXJO fell 18.4 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 5,160.4 by 0206 GMT, after rising 3.4 per cent last week.
