Wall Street stocks tumbled this morning after insurer American International Group (AIG) got a new government bailout after a record US$61.7 billion quarterly loss, fueling fears that the global financial crisis is getting worse.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell to its lowest since April 1997, hit by selling in financial, energy and industrial stocks as all 30 components were in negative territory.
