Five weeks after it closed its doors, The PC Company re-opened yesterday selling computer gear at discounted prices from its premises in Quentin Dr, Hamilton.
Money raised by the sale may be used to pay former staff, who are angry that they are still owed holiday pay and payment in lieu of notice almost six weeks after the company stopped trading.
The Herald understands wages up to the closing date were paid in the first week.
Major creditors were unaware of the stock sale, which is set to continue for an indefinite period.
Managing director Colin Brown had promised a "compromise with creditors" proposal for the end of this week and one creditor has filed a notice to wind up the firm.
The sale includes a broad range of equipment from monitors to components at close-to-cost prices. Brown said it was the start of the "disposal process" and was taking place under legal guidance.
Asked if former staff would receive money from the sale, Brown said: "There is a set legal priority process of who gets paid."
Twelve Hamilton former staff members have banded together to take legal action against the firm.
