A global logistics operator and South Island technology company have joined forces to offer a service that aims to make life easier for professional Trade Me sellers.
EasyTrade, which went live on the online auction website this month, combines the warehousing and shipping services of Brightstar, a US-based logistics firm, with e-commerce software developed by Christchurch's Tradevine.
The software company is the brainchild of Peter Montgomery, who founded vacuum mooring technology maker Mooring Systems, which in 2007 was merged with Dutch engineering group Cavotec to form NZX-listed Cavotec MSL Holdings.
Montgomery said both Tradevine and Brightstar had been receiving inquiries from Trade Me sellers and realised they could work together to offer the service.
Tradevine's software worked as EasyTrade's front-end interface, he said, allowing sellers to connect to the channels they want to sell through, manage inventory and process orders.
