KEY POINTS:
Marlborough vineyard Oyster Bay said cold weather cut its grape harvest by 10 per cent, reducing its revenue by the same amount.
The year's harvest totalled 4206 tonnes of chardonnay, pinot noir, riesling and sauvignon blanc varieties, down from 4689 tonnes last year.
"Reductions of this order, attributable to cold weather in December, are understood to have been widely experienced by vineyards in Marlborough's Wairau Valley this year," the company said.
Revenue also fell 10 per cent, to $9.6 million with the average price per tonne comparable to the previous year, at $2272.
Oyster Bay sold its grape harvest to vineyard manager and 50.1 per cent owner, Delegat's Wine Estate, under a long-term agreement between the two companies.
Independent directors and the company's independent viticultural consultant David Jordan certified to the stock exchange that they considered the prices received were commercial and fair to the minority shareholders.
Directors also certified that negotiations were conducted at arm's length.
