Orion Health took the supreme award at the NZ International Business Awards in Auckland last night.
The Grafton company, which develops software for the healthcare sector, was one of 10 firms and businesspeople to win awards in nine catagories.
Award judges said Orion had a clear focus on a niche sector and also complimented the company on its willingness to invest in research and development and its aggressive expansion strategy. At the end of last year, Orion had 480 staff in 14 offices across nine countries.
Other winners were Auckland plastics manufacturer Sistema, which won the use of design in international business award, and Takapuna's EverEdgeIP, which won the best commercialisation of intellectual property award. The awards are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Chief executive Peter Chrisp said they were an opportunity to celebrate the international success of exceptional Kiwi companies and business leaders.
