Havelock North honey and New Zealand beef are featuring nightly in Jakarta since the opening of the first overseas Steak Out restaurant, a chain that began in Hawkes Bay.
The South Jakarta restaurant is owned by Indonesian meat importer Kuswandi Wangidjaja.
He plans to open a second Steak Out in North Jakarta in a few months and eventually a chain of 20 restaurants throughout Indonesia.
It features New Zealand beef, fresh New Zealand fish and pots of honey from Havelock North-based Arataki Honey.
Mr Kuswandi dined at the Havelock North restaurant last year and two weeks later phoned Mr Bell to ask if he could open a chain in Indonesia.
