New Zealand is close to breaking into the top 20 of the World Economic Forum's global information rankings.
It has risen two places to 21, behind France and ahead of Ireland in the Swiss-based organisation's Global Information Technology Report 2004-2005.
The top five ranked countries are Singapore, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and the United States, which led the table last year.
