Wellington barrister Peter Dengate Thrush, 51, who specialises in internet law, may have the inside running to replace a "father of the internet" , Vint Cerf, as chairman of cyberspace. Cerf steps down this month as chairman of the internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
Domaines.info reported that Thrush and Cerf's vice-chairman, Italian Roberto Gaetano, were interested in taking on the job. Candidates must be board members.
