Nuplex lifts stake in APS

Symex Holdings said yesterday it would sell its 19.9 per cent stake in Asia Pacific Specialty Chemicals (APS) to New Zealand's Nuplex Industries.

The Symex stake takes Nuplex's holding in APS to 65.78 per cent.

Symex previously had a bid on the table for APS, but its offer of 65Ac a share lapsed at the end of June.

Nuplex raised its own offer for APS to 74Ac a share on Friday.
