Nissan Motor, Japan's second-biggest carmaker, unexpectedly had its first profit decline in four quarters on higher taxes and raw material costs.
Net income for the Tokyo-based giant fell 0.9 per cent to 139.3 billion yen ($1.8 billion) in the three months ended March 31, from 140.4 billion yen a year earlier.
