Nike powered by merino

Designer Textiles has won a deal to supply a merino wool fabric to shoe giant Nike.

After much product testing, Nike has agreed to use the company's "merino advanced performance programme" fabric product as part of its ACG range of outdoor shoes.

Designer Textiles chairman George Gould said the supply deal, which starts later in the year, had a lot of potential.

"It could be huge, but it's early days yet."
