KEY POINTS:
Dorchester Pacific announced yesterday it had appointed John Gosney as an independent director and director Paul Byrnes to the role of executive director.
The stressed finance company, which has seen its share price tumble from over $2 a year ago to 37c yesterday, said through chairman Barry Graham that Gosney had extensive management experience and a background in finance with Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan.
He said Byrnes would boost the leadership team although departing chief executive Andrew Walker would still be available to Dorchester.
"Paul is a chartered accountant with extensive management experience, having been managing director of previously listed Holeproof Industries for nine years, and he has a solid and in-depth understanding of Dorchester and its operations."
Byrnes has been a director of Dorchester since 2004 and has built up a holding of approximately 500,000 shares in the company in recent months. He is currently chairman of Top Energy and a director of listed investment company Hellaby Holdings.
