KEY POINTS:
Port of Tauranga has appointed its finance/IT manager Steve Gray as the company's new chief financial officer.
Chief executive Mark Cairns said strong external candidates had also been short listed for the job, as part of an extensive search to fill the position.
Mr Gray, who has been at the port for 20 years, replaces Colin Boocock who is retiring after being there for 30 years.
