Mortgagee sales are on the rise, according to an unofficial survey conducted by banking and finance analysts interest.co.nz.
They count listings on auction websites Trade Me.co.nz and Realestate.co.nz, which jumped a record amount in the last week to a record high, their survey found.
Total mortgagee listings on both sites rose to 353 on Monday August 4 from 335 the previous week and from 211 when the survey was started on March 11.
The proportion of sales listings that are mortgagee listings rose to 0.34 per cent from 0.32 per cent the previous week and 0.21 per cent when the survey began.
The number of listings overall fell in the last week to 105,283 and is down 1.8 per cent from a month ago. Listings have dropped 7 per cent since hitting a peak on April 28 of 113,012.
