KEY POINTS:
New Zealand new car registrations totalled 6399 in June, up 0.9 per cent on May and 0.1 per cent up on a year earlier, Land Transport NZ said today.
Used car registrations - generally imported used cars - totalled 10,007 last month, down 9.2 per cent on the previous month and 2.5 per cent lower than a year ago, the government agency said in a statement.
New commercial vehicle registrations during the month were 2530, 25.2 per cent higher than the previous month but down 1.7 per cent on June 2006.
The top selling make was Toyota with 1074 new cars followed by Holden with 736.
