Business interruption insurance appears to be more popular, in the wake of the Christchurch earthquakes.
Auckland insurer McCarrison Hayes says it's seen a noticeable increase in the inquiries about business interruption insurance since February.
Director Mark Hayes says his firm has sold more of that type of insurance in the past two months than it has in the past year.
He says Kiwis have a "she'll be right' attitude and they don't realise the consequences of not taking out such a policy.
A business interruption policy covers businesses while they're not trading.
