PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj is visiting North Korea and may become the first foreign head of state to officially meet the country's leader Kim Jong Un since he took over.
The Mongolian president's website said Monday that Elbegdorj will discuss bilateral and regional affairs in North Korea "with DPRK leaders and other high-level government officials."
DPRK are the initials of the country's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Elbegdorj announced his trip shortly before departing for Pyongyang earlier Monday.
The Associated Press Television filmed the North Korean parliament chief Kim Yong Nam greeting Elbegdorj and his wife upon their arrival at the Pyongyang airport.
